Desun 24 hr. Emergency with Specialist Doctors.
Mr. Amal Ghosh, a 46 years old male
from Diamond Harbour is the only earning member of a family of five
people. He had a massive road accident
which almost killed him. He was on bike
and was hit by a goods truck. The
accident took place at night. The
pedestrians picked him up and took him to a nearby nursing home. The nursing home charged initial deposit
money for admission which nobody had at that moment. One of the persons in that group remembered
that DESUN Hospital does not charge initial Deposit money at the time of
admission.
The patient was immediately shifted
to DESUN in gasping condition.
Immediately he was tested with Chest X-Ray and subsequently with CT
Chest. The tests revealed multiple rib
fracture with fracture scapula and clerical resulting in severe lung
injury. This caused pneumo and
haemothorax (rupture of lung resulting in accumulation of air and blood in
chest). Observing this critical condition of the patient the doctors decided to
put chest drain immediately on both sides of the chest. He was then intubated and ventilated.
The accident had made its injurious
impact on almost every part of his body.
He was suffering from tendon and
muscle injury of right foot. A medical
team, comprising of specialist internal medicine doctors, cardiothoracic
surgeon, orthopaedic surgeon, pulmonologist and plastic surgeon reviewed him
daily. Since the patient was in shock he
was haemodynamically unstable. This
critical condition required proper management and tremendous skill with
supporting infrastructure to make the patient stable. Ultimately the doctors were able to make him
haemodynamically stable. Next he underwent t blood transfusion.
Another problem he was suffering from
was pneumonia due to lung injury.
Pneumonia is caused due to infections.
He developed severe infection called sepsis. His culture report showed the presence of ESBL
producer Klebsiella and multi drug resistant pseudomonas. To normalize his state the doctor gave him
optimal antibiotic therapy along with supportive medications. All these medical efforts made him
haemodynamically stable. After 10 days
he was shifted from the ITU to general ward.
He was discharged 7 days later.
He is now fit and back at his job and
is supporting his wife, two daughters and mother in his family like
before. This has been possible because
of DESUN’s infrastructure and swift
intervention.
Corollary Accidents are frequent
mishaps that often take away lives of people.
Such emergencies need swift admission and very quick medical
treatment. If the treatment is delayed
the result can be fatal. The is where
DESUN Hospital is of greatest help. It
has 24 Hour Emergency Ambulance Cell which helps the patient at any time of the
day or night to be picked up from their area in the shortest possible time and
bring the patient over to DESUN.
Further, Deposit Free Emergency Admission at DESUN is a blessing for
such patients as they do not carry so much money with them.
